Reminder for Tuesday 12th November - Albany Buddy visit

JUST A REMINDER FOR TUESDAY 12th NOVEMBER
Dear Parents,
This year we have connected with Penpals in ‘The Treehut’ at Albany Primary School and have written backwards and forwards throughout the term.
On Tuesday 12th November we have invited our Buddies to come and spend the day with us!
They will arrive around 9.30am and spend the day, leaving at 2.00pm.
We have planned a range of activities with our buddy, one of these being a shared lunch.
We would ask that your children bring a plate of food, enough for them and their buddy to add to the shared lunch.
We have allocated items, for ease:
  • Miss Harman’s class - Sweet food (biscuits, cup cakes, donuts, coconut ice, slice)
  • Ms Ryder’s buddy class - Savoury food (cheerios, sausage rolls, sushi, pizza, cheese toast, sandwiches, fairy bread)
  • Mrs Campbell’s class - fruit, sweets (fruit kebabs, strawberries, dried apricots, pineapple lumps)
We do ask that if your food contains ANY type of PEANUT that the container is labelled and covered with a sealed lid.  There will be 1 child and 1 adult from Albany that have a severe nut allergy, so will need to be made aware of this.
If your child would like to prepare a small homemade gift for their buddy, they are more than welcome to do so, or if they prefer to purchase them something, we suggest no more than $5.00.
To assist with the cost of the bus, we are asking our children to pay $2.00 towards this.
If you have not paid your term 4’s activity fee, please make payment to the school office as soon as possible.
We are really looking forward to meeting our buddies!

Science fair/display Week 9 - Term 3 In Week 9 of this term, there will be a school wide Science fair/display to showcase what the children have been investigating this term. We have individual questions in the pipeline and some children have already taken it upon themselves to start researching at home! Some of the questions the children have created, may have an experiment element and could be done at home over the next few weeks, to help test their theories! As part of the display, we would like our children to present their individual investigations on a Science board.  The purchasing of the Science boards is optional, but preferred.  You may wish to investigate as follows  Warehouse stationery , Office Max or Educational essentials.  Boards range in price from around $10 - $14.00. Week 4!

St Johns came to visit us this week. They taught us what to do in an emergency.  We even got to practice some first aid! Friday was Mr Hardy, our Caretaker's last day.  We said goodbye to him at his special farewell assembly. We will miss you Mr Hardy.
